Emma Waterfall is the founder and managing director at Cascade Communications.

At 30, Emma set up Cascade in 2011 seeing an opportunity to establish a communications consultancy focused in the property sector.  Based in Soho, the company continues to grow currently with 12 consultants and has fast established a reputation for its commitment to delivering strategic advice and results for clients in property development, planning and construction.

Some of Cascade’s achievements include approvals for the iconic Battersea Power Station, two of London’s tallest new towers in Vauxhall and a new Library within the grounds of Lambeth Palace. Cascade’s clients include:  Battersea Power Station Development Company, British Land, Bouygues, Church Commissioners, Countryside Properties, Dalian Wanda, Delancey, Greenland, Land Securities, London Square, Royal College of Art, Sainsbury’s, Taylor Wimpey and Transport for London.

Cascade’s work has been recognised with several Best for PR Awards and two shortlistings – Microbusiness of the Year at the Growing Business Awards 2015 and Consultancy of the Year at the Public Affairs Awards 2016. Emma was also shortlisted for a Professional Services Award at the Variety Catherine Awards 2016.

Emma has an undergraduate honours degree in Politics from Cardiff University and a Masters in Politics, Security and Integration from University College London. It was Emma’s interest in politics that led her to the world of public affairs. Emma started her career in communications within the public affairs team at Four Communications from 2004 to 2008 and was then recruited as a Director at Bell Pottinger Public Affairs, from 2008 to 2010, to set up and lead a local government and planning team.

Outside of work, Emma keeps active by running, cycling and travelling. Since her university days where she had the opportunity to represent Wales in rowing, Emma has always enjoyed sport. Moving to London at the start of her career, Emma switched her focus to marathon running and then cycling. Combining her love of the outdoors and travel, Emma has competed in the Marathon des Sables, cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats, and London to Cannes, and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, raising thousands of pounds for charity
